This past weekend we took a quick trip to Cincinnati to pick up our oldest, John, who had wanted to spend a few weeks at Mamaw and Papaw's house. Well come to find out, a 5 year old can really miss his 3 year old partner in crime :)_ He was really sad at night so we decided to take advantage of a long weekend and go visit family. We drove all through the night on Thursday, which made life much more bearable since Titus is not a pleasant traveler. Friday afternoon we surprised my parents and got to see their office which they moved into last fall after many years of hard work running their home business doing taxes and bookkeeping. It was exciting to see how far God has brought them.
Friday night we enjoyed Skyline Chili, the world's best chili spaghetti and chili dogs! Saturday involved a lazy morning with Brian's parents, enjoying home cooked breakfast, and then a walk down the street to visit Brian's childhood babysitter. Watching Titus zoom around her house brought back great memories of Brian's many childhood adventures. Afterwards, we enjoyed a nice dinner with Brian's extended family.
Sunday morning was off to church with my parents - a special moment because my mom had all her kids and 2 grandsons in the same pew at church. We enjoyed a good home cooked meal and some laughter. Then, we headed back to Mamaw and Papaw's to pack up the suitcases and head back to Ft. Bragg.
It was a blessing to be able to enjoy some time with family, but as always it is good to get back in the swing of life here.

Here are some pictures to provide a quick glimpse of our whirlwind weekend.
